NEW POLICE CHIEF ASSUMES DUTIES
SMITH REDMON IS NOW POLICE CHIEF AND
THE FORCE AND PEOPLE ARE WELL PLEASED

The new chief of police, Smith Redmon, assumed the office this morning and tell gracefully into the duties being the oldest man on the force and thoroughly conversant with the duties devolving on him.

Every patrolman on the force are very much pleased with the appointment of Mr. Redmon. He stated this morning that there would be no change in the men and that he hoped that the citizens of the city would cooperate with his force in the enforcement of the law.

The police force of the city at present numbers ten men and every one of them are efficient officers and are always found doing their full duty.
