MANNSVILLE -- Services for Donnie Van Mays, 46, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Mannsville Assembly of God Church with Timothy Ball and Samuel Clemons officiating.

Interment was at Mannsville Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home. Mays died May 28, 1997, in the Tishomingo hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born Oct. 31, 1950, at Ringling, to Joseph and Hattie Mays. Reared at Courtney, he moved to the Russett-Mannsville area in 1958 and was an air conditioning mechanic with Allied Service in Ardmore. He was a member of the Oklahoma State Coon Hunters Association. He and Edith Wagoner were married June 14, 1969, at Madill.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Mays; and daughter, Donna Vinson, Mannsville; brothers, Kenneth, Healdton, Arthur, Las Vegas, Nev., Dean, Norman, Lonnie and Tommy, Mannsville, Gary, Ardmore, and Doug and Darrell, Dickson; two sisters, Sue Barnes and Ann Rich, Ringling; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Otis and Roger; and a sister, Jean. Bearers were Frances Roberts, Ronnie Dennis, James Lewis, Willard Peoples, Junior Byrne and Red Rawson.

Honorary bearers were members of the Southern Oklahoma Coon Hunters Association.
